Tired of having to translate those user ability flags in Major mud?  There hasn't been a
program update for Megamud in several years now.  The built in ability flag listing is out of
date and no longer accurate.

Well fear no more.  We're proud to present the Quest Calculator!

With the proper setup, the Quest Calculator will tell you:
  • Can the user do the quest yet? (i.e. Proper level)
  • Is the user the proper race/class? (i.e Gaunt One for Gaunt Quest)
  • Does the user have the needed items to proceed with the quest?

A simple setup for Megamud will insure that you always get the proper information
needed by my program.
To use this setup, the Mudop/Sysop would type:
ABILITY CHECK <user>

Megamud would then give a listing of that users inventory, stats, and ability flags.  Open
your scroll back window and select all of the information you were given.  Press
CRTL-C
to copy the text.

Load Quest Calculator, click
PASTE, select your reply options to the user (if needed),
and click
Quest Calculate.  That's all there is to it!

Sample Image of Quest Calculator.  Click to view full size image.
Had you selected a reply option, Quest Calculator would switch to your Mudop/Sysop window and
responded to the user via the method you selected.  If you select Email as your reply option, you will
have to load your email program, select the body of the email message, and press
CTRL-V to paste the
information into the Email.

Quests are color coded to make the list easier to read.
  • Green = Completed
  • Yellow = Can not do the quest ever (Wrong race/class)
  • Red=Incomplete, see details.

The Questing Items Needed list will show you if the user is missing any required items for the next
step in the quest.

Average run time is less than one second but will vary based on what else you have running on your
computer at the time, memory available, processor speed, ect...
