Quest Calculator FAQ
Q: How much does it cost?
A: Quest Calculator is provided free of charge to Mudops and Sysops.
Q: Why does it miss a quest that has been done?
A: This happens sometimes when the data isn't pasted properly. Quest Flags look like this: 127(12). Sometimes
when you paste the information, the flag and the flag value will get put on separate lines. If you suspect this has
happened, take the option on the file menu to View Raw Data and edit the information you pasted so that the flag
and the value are together. Then re-run the Quest Calculator.
Q: What does the "Lost Item" message mean?
A: This shows up only on the 5th Alignment Quest. It means that the user has lost either the ancient blackwood
heart, long golden chain, or massive black gem before they went and talked to the old man in Arly. The user will
have to go kill Oz, Gypsy Woman, or the Hanging Tree and get another item before they can continue the quest.
Go ahead and give the user grief for being so foolish.
Q: What version of MajorMud is this program written for?
A: The flag values are from version 1.11P. However, except for the 5th Quest it will work on previous versions.
Depending on what version you are running prior to 1.11P, the program may not properly report the lvl 15 quests
and the apparatus quest. Talk to your Sysop about upgrading to 1.11P because I do not have the correct flag
values for version prior to 1.11P. At this time, there are no plans to add prior version support even if I get the flag
listings. There are simply to many prior versions.
Q: What is the deal with Good Aligned Mystics and Rangers on the 5th Quest?
A: Well, when Metro made the flag changes in 1.11P they forgot to update the text blocks for Mystics and Rangers
on the Good Quest. The result is, if a Good Ranger or Mystic tries to go kill the Lich, their flags get an invalid value
and they will not be able to complete the quest. You will not get the 5th Quest Weapon.
Q: Why did you write this software?
A: A few reasons. 1. Because I can. There was a need and I thought I could do something to help. 2. This game
has provided me with years of enjoyment, I wanted to give something back. 3. Perhaps this will help show Metro
that there is still interest in the game.
Q: I have a user on the Phoenix Feather Quest, the user is below level 65 but your program says that
the user has used the Word of Power for the Super Trainer (Lvl 65+). Why is this?
A: When you take the components back to Morukai and type ask morukai components he casts the morukai
temp spell on you. This spell turns on your 152 flag for 200 rounds. The 152 flag is also the flag used to indicate if
you are using the easy or the hard lvl 65+ trainer. As soon as the 200 rounds expires, the 152 flag is turned back
off and the program will report correctly.
