What is the Limited Item Locator?
The original idea behind the Limited Item Locator was to provide Mudops/Sysops with an easy method of seeing
what limited items were in gang houses. Sure, you can run the limited item list and figure out all the room and map
numbers, but that's kind of a pain.
The original version of the LIL only dealt with gang houses. It showed which house had which item in it. Later it
was modified to show who owned the house. A users listing was added to show a list, sorted by user, of who was
holding what limited items. A summary was added showing the total number of limiteds on a user.
The December 2006 release included listings for the Sysop Support Chambers, Items on Monsters, Items on the
ground, and a special section for the Level 10 Quest Weapons. The entire system was redesigned from the
ground up.
An option has also been added to allow you to copy the output to the clipboard. It can be posted in an Email,
Forum, or other similar method of sending. It is to long to post to an IM chat window however. If you post your
listing to a YaBB type forum, the output can be formatted by the program. (Gordon, a user at EntConn gave me this
idea)
As of 2 February 2007 the program will track the number of days a limited item sits in the same location.
